    Template System

Create dynamic prompts with customizable variables

    What are variables?

Variables allow you to create reusable prompts with fields that users can customize.

When creating a prompt, you can include special placeholders that will become interactive input fields. Users can fill in these fields and get a personalized prompt ready to copy.

    Basic syntax:
    [[ variable_name ]]

    Input Types

You can specify the type of field you want using parentheses after the variable name.

    Input (short text)
    default

Single-line text field. This is the default type if you don't specify one.

    # No type (uses input by default)
    [[ name ]]
    # Explicit
    [[ name(input) ]]
    # With default value
    [[ language(input) : JavaScript ]]
    Aliases: input, inputbox, text

    Textarea (long text)

Multi-line text area for extensive content like code, long descriptions, etc.

    [[ description(textarea) ]]
    # With default value
    [[ code(textbox) : console.log("hello") ]]
    Aliases: textarea, textbox, multiline

    Boolean (true/false)

An on/off switch for binary options. The value will be "true" or "false".

    [[ include_examples(boolean) ]]
    # With default value
    [[ expert_mode(true/false) : true ]]
Aliases: boolean, bool, true/false, checkbox, switch

    Select (options)

Dropdown with predefined options. Options are separated by commas after "select:".

    [[ language(select:english,spanish,french) ]]
    # With default value
    [[ tone(select:formal,casual,technical) : casual ]]
    Aliases: select, dropdown

    Complete Example

A prompt that uses all available input types

    Generate a [[ content_type(select:article,post,email,script) : article ]] about [[ topic ]] for [[ audience(input) : developers ]]. Tone: [[ tone(select:formal,casual,technical,humorous) : casual ]] [[ include_examples(boolean) : true ]] Include code examples. [[ include_resources(boolean) : false ]] Include resource links. Additional context: [[ context(textarea) ]]
Result: This prompt will generate an interactive panel with:
    • 1 dropdown for content type
    • 2 text fields (topic and audience)
    • 1 dropdown for tone
    • 2 switches for options
    • 1 text area for context

    Tips & Best Practices

    • •Use descriptive snake_case names for variables (e.g., content_type)
    • •Provide default values when it makes sense to ease usage
    • •Use select when there are limited and known options
    • •Use textarea for code or long text the user needs to write
    • •boolean types are ideal for toggling prompt sections on/off
